# Newsletters (/docs/troubleshooting/newsletters)

## A confirmation did not complete [#a-confirmation-did-not-complete]

Automatic confirmation works only for recognized publication platforms and only when it is enabled
for that subscription inbox. Otherwise, follow the publisher's confirmation instructions manually.

## The newsletter is not available in a reading list [#the-newsletter-is-not-available-in-a-reading-list]

A sender becomes selectable only after the first message reaches the private subscription inbox.
Confirm the publisher used the exact Relay address and wait for that first delivery.

## A message never appeared [#a-message-never-appeared]

1. Confirm the newsletter was sent to the correct private address.
2. Check whether the publisher requires confirmation.
3. Confirm the sender has not delayed or paused delivery.
4. Wait for the normal email delivery window before retrying the subscription.

Do not publish the private inbox address in a support screenshot.

## The message arrived but was not in an edition [#the-message-arrived-but-was-not-in-an-edition]

Confirm its observed sender is selected in that reading list and the message is newer than the list's
saved position. The first list run uses the latest existing observed message; later runs include only
newer messages.

## Formatting or images are missing [#formatting-or-images-are-missing]

The newsletter is sanitized for EPUB safety. Scripts, forms, trackers, unsafe markup, and unsupported
or remote image arrangements may be removed. The core readable text should remain. Report a formatting
bug only with a redacted example or a public archive URL—never forward secrets or private email data
without an approved support channel.

## An attachment is missing [#an-attachment-is-missing]

This is expected. eReader Relay reads the email body and does not parse or package ordinary
attachments. PDFs, office documents, calendar files, archives, audio, video, and attached images do
not become chapters or downloadable EPUB files.

Only a supported raster image referenced inline by the newsletter HTML can be embedded, subject to
size and safety limits. If the newsletter puts the main article in an attachment, ask the publisher
for an HTML-email or public-web version.

An inbound message over 5 MB is rejected, and attachments count toward that total even when they
would otherwise be ignored.
